Want to go Darker?

Light hair will require a little bit more to get it dark.

You will need to first add a base color of red. This red will act as a foundation for you to lay down the darker color and avoid any strange happenings from going light to dark too quickly.

In some cases, the red may show through in the later fading stages of the dark color but will be fixed up with the next application. Repeated applications of darker Shadows will create a permanent color that wont fade. You can just touch up the roots once you get to this stage and do a full application every 4th or 5th time to maintain the ends.

If you have Grey, Light blonde, Medium blonde or Dark blonde colored hair

and wish to use any of these colors:

Chocolate Shadow, Deep Chestnut Shadow or Indigo Shadow

you may need to first apply either the Copper Shadow or Red Shadow

****Please note: we recommend you not to use our Honey, Caramel, Chestnut, Walnut, Chocolate, Deep Chestnut or Indigo Shadow if you wish to Chemically lighten or bleach your hair in the future as one of the plant dyes that we use to get our natural brown colors will leave a blueish green tone after bleaching.

Medium Copper Red

Red Shadow will add a solid red base in preparation for coloring your hair from a light shade to a dark shade. Can be applied for 1 to 1.5 hours and then rinsed out. We recommend you then apply your Darker shade within 48 hours to achieve the best results.

*We recommend a strand test to determine desired processing time and final color result.

Method

First

Mix and apply your Copper or Red Shadow as per instructions. Leave in your hair for 1 to 1.5 hours and then rinse thoroughly.

Towel dry your hair or allow to dry fully.

Second

Within 48 hours of applying your red base

Mix and apply your Chocolate, Deep Chestnut or Indigo Shadow as per instructions. Grey coverage instructions will yeild the highest dye content and therefore the best results. You can also opt to use the non grey coverage method (a strand test is recommended before full application to ensure you get the desired result - some hair types may need the grey coverage method for best results). Leave in your hair for 1.5 to 2 hours rinse and style as usual.

After 72 hours the full color result will be seen after oxidization as taken place and run its full course.
